English Channel - Business Women's Guide to Fashion

European style is always fast forward, innovative, modern, elegant and classy. Especially in regards to British fashion houses and famous designers that showcase artful clothes for couture or ready to wear ensembles. British women are known for the elevated taste in fashion and style. They tend to lean more towards the conservative, classic (and sometimes modern), fresh, clean and elegant approach to dressing. You can expect to see British business women in tailored clothes with accessories that accent their outfits rather than dominate it. Now women from around the world can mirror their British counterparts without having to cross over the pond!

Listed below are tips that stylish, professional women can instantly implement into their wardrobe and channel their British style diva.

In the Trenches

Trench coats are a staple to any outerwear collection. They are versatile, classic and stylish for any outfit for any profession. Students, business women, lawyers, doctors, artists etc. can wear trench coats that blend into their style profiles. Trench coats are no longer being made in the classic khaki colors as from the days of old. Many clothing designers and retail companies are adding a punch of color to this classic piece with blacks, bright primary colors and even patterned prints. The shape of trench coats are also evolving. Women can purchase this outerwear in a cropped version, or in three-quarter length sleeves. Either way, trench coats are definitely here to stay.

Queen of Diamonds

Argyles are no longer reserved for your grand uncle or the finest golfers on the greens. They are being incorporated into almost every aspect of women's clothes and accessories. Besides the classic argyle vest, this fun pattern is being used for skirts, dresses, sweaters, socks, pins and handbags. Argyles also look dynamic with different textures such as silk, cotton, wool and velvet. It is usually worn in the day but can easily transition into the night with pearl accessories and sparkling accents. Argyles can also be paired perfectly with different patterns such as plaids, tweeds, pin stripes and even polka dots. The sky is the limit to the combination that can be created.

Tall Women's Clothing - From Work to Play in Style

Women who are very tall often discover that looking stylish and pulled together is sometimes a very hard task to manage. However, with some good tips and suggestions it is possible to still look great and pulled together no matter where you are planning to go. While some women resort to hiring a stylist to help then keep their image pulled together it is not necessary if you follow some guidelines.

First, avoid shirts that do not extend at least to your hip line. If the shirt is too short and does not extend to at least the natural waistline it can cause you to look overly tall and quite unnatural. Shirts that extend to at least the natural waistline help provide a connected and pulled together appearance.

Avoid pants that are too short. While finding pants that are the appropriate length may not be easy, it is well worth the effort because otherwise you can look sloppy or unprofessional. If you choose to wear shorts, then always ensure that the shorts are not too long. If you are very tall an appropriately lengthen pair of shorts can make you look stunning.

Tall women should also avoid wearing high heels that are more than 3" tall. While extremely tall shoes are often quite trendy and stylish they also have the misfortune of making an extremely tall woman appear as if she is a giant rather than stylish. To avoid this look for similar shoes that are a bit shorter in height so that you are able to still look stylish and trendy without seeming as if you are overly tall.

Another important consideration that you should be careful about is the fact that finding appropriately fitting clothes for a very tall woman is not always easy. To help make things easier and ensure that you are not looking frumpy or unprofessional it is often a wise decision to seek out stores that are geared specifically towards tall women. A store that simply stocks a few pieces of tall women's clothing is not going to have the options available that a store geared towards tall women will offer.

A Review of Banana Republic Clothing

There's no denying that fashion plays a huge role in modern society. It doesn't matter where you live, the current trends and styles are sure to be in your community. You simply can't escape them. You may not conform to wearing them, but they'll still be beamed into your home right through your TV set. Banana Republic clothing is a great example of what I mean. Our society gets absolutely exercised over whatever is the latest and coolest trend. We love to look nice, and many of us will pay a pretty penny to do so. It's just in our nature.

Banana Republic clothing is a division of Gap Inc. in case you didn't realize it. I was out shopping for jeans in the Gap this weekend or a lovely young lady came to help me out. She spoke of Banana Republic, which baffled me. Was she really talking up a competitor? No, not quite. They're actually resides a working relationship between the Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there are in cahoots. They are different price ranges for different shopping audiences by extension they appeal to everyone across the economic stratus. It's a pretty smart way to do business I think. That's probably why they've been in business for so many years.

I first noticed Banana Republic clothing when I was getting ready to do a photo shoot. I needed some sharp looking clothes that look really good in front of the camera. The photographer mentioned Banana Republic to so I went over and took a look. I was a bit surprised, but I really liked what I saw. If you're going for a kind of up-beat, high fashion look in a modern world, Banana Republic clothing is just the ticket. Whether many of us males will be honest enough to admit it or not, we also liked to look fashionable. There's no doubt about it, that the ladies love guys that dress well. Women go out of their way to look nice, why would they want a PC with a slap. It's pretty universal actually. They will tell you that a shmo is a tuxedo looks a lot nicer than a shmo in a torn pair of jeans and a dirty T-shirt.

My wife also loves Banana Republic clothing. It offers her a nice business-sheik look for her profession. I have no idea what that means, but that's what she told me. It can get a bit pricey for some items, but considering the costs at some of the other clothing stores that she frequents, I'd say it's really not so bad after all.

You can easily see for yourself by going for a quick browse through Nordstrom's or Guess. Looking nice nowadays can be a costly endeavor. It really doesn't matter if you're a man or woman, you may find a style right for you in Banana Republic. They cater quite nicely to both sides of the gender stew. The clothing is suited for those in a business atmosphere, or those who are interested in looking chic for a night out on the town. Whatever your style, you'll likely find something exciting in Banana Republic.

Is the Internet the Saviour of Women's Clothing?

We all need clothes. Whether you agree or not, there can be few people in few places who can actually get by without a wardrobe of clothes, full or not.

In this day and age, our clothes play a massive role in shaping our identity and more to the point, our clothes shape the persona that we present to the public.

Whilst we may think that we pursue individuality when we shop, in reality, we are very easily led and boringly predictable. When it comes to women's clothing, most of the high street retailers would have you believe that there is an endless choice on offer when unfortunately, the opposite is true.

What the high street offers is a very small selection of styles and sizes, and because they all chase exactly the same next big thing in fashion, much of what's on offer is repeated up and down the high street.

For real variety and real choice, there is only one real alternative to the high street.: The Internet.

Not only does the Internet house the virtual stores of the high street, it also showcases some of the most innovative and exciting styles and trends of the day. If you want woman's clothing that can really reflect your personality and identity, then you're unlikely to find it in mainstream central, or the high street as I'd prefer to call it.

Woman's clothing has finally come of age on the Internet with a truly liberating number of designers and retailers who are able to offer more daring styles and design and dare I say, more realistic sizes to enable more of us to better define our identities and personalities through the clothes that we wear. Whether you're tall or short, narrow or wide, and whether you're comfortable with who you are and how you look there is a place you can finally shop that will tick all of your boxes, without the demands of a trip into town. Long live the Internet.

Happy Shopping.

If you're in search of a fashion identity and the high street just doesn't fit or isn't varied enough, then Sam Benton suggests the benefit of shopping online, and what you can expect from an online women's clothing store in particular.
